Tough tool for delicate jobs

Park Tool's DT-2 Rotor Adjusting Fork is dependable, durable equipment. Of course, this is a simple idea for a tool, but well thought out and designed. The tool is cut from a thick piece of steel (0.25 inch [6.25mm]), much thicker than the cheaper ones. The center of gravity of the DT-2 is damn close to the center of the instrument. As soon as you pick up the Park Tool fork, you will immediately understand the price difference. The tool's thickness and tapered center provides a comfortable grip and thumb placement as if you were using a planer or slotted cutter. This allows you to get good leverage. The plastic rubber sleeve around the DT-2 also improves the comfort and handling of the instrument during use. If your bike has disc brakes and you do the basic maintenance yourself, the DT-2 is what you need in your toolbox. Sure, you can use a screwdriver, pliers, channel locks, and pretty much anything you can jam and use as leverage, but with the right tool for the job, you won't needlessly ruin, scratch, or damage things. If you are using large rotors (180mm+) then this is a must have in your kit. This tool will pay for itself many times over. Not only will you save the expense of going to a garage to straighten or replace a bent brake disc, you can also keep your brake discs in good working order to avoid unnecessary and excessive wear on the brake pads, leading to more frequent replacements. For some of the tools I bought for my bike kit, I went with cheaper manufacturers than Park Tool. I have no money to leave. However, there are some tools that I think are worth the extra money, either due to the safety implications, frequency of use (tool life), and/or potential damage to the bike during use. I believe that the A-Rotor adjustment fork is one of the tools that fulfills all of these needs. Even if you decide that the Park Tool DT-2 rotor timing fork is not right for you because of the high cost, I would recommend you choose another rotor timing fork to service your rotors. Many Thanks. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found them helpful.
