Excellent food processor! It does everything the typical family needs, no frills. Pros: - very good, shreds vegetables evenly, doesn't leave a lot of large chunks and doesn't crush them. - Crushes nuts well (not good enough for flour or butter) - All functions work properly (batter, dressing, slicing, grating - whatever it can do) - Affordable Cons: - Lid has no seal, making soup and filling almost completely Bowl can cause liquid to spill down, side blade doesn't snap into bowl meaning you can pour it out when emptying the bowl - loudly (which can be a plus if your kids are arguing while making dinner and you want to steam it) - lightweight and requires little pressure to prevent wobbling when unevenly loaded with hard, large chunks. Basically we are very satisfied. I have to point out 2 things: 1) we also have a Vitamix blender so this unit is used primarily for chopping veggies, and 2) it replaces a ridiculously expensive food processor that had a blade lock, lid seal and was heavy but has failed. less than 2 years without company support despite warranty claims. Oster devices and customer service have given us good results, much better than the more expensive brands. We did a good job getting a quality blender for making smoothies, soups, and flour, as well as a regular food processor for chopping veggies and making chicken salad.
