So the $200 investment in this diagnostic tool paid off immediately. This requires some investigation, but again, my other diagnostic tools haven't reported this issue. The experience with the MD806 out of the box is top notch. A well-written and comprehensive user's guide that is surprisingly well-organized, written, and thorough. I particularly like the quick start guide, which is a one-page sheet with a QR code that tells you about the website, creates a login, and runs any software updates the device might need. It's a quick and easy process, but you'll need an SD card reader for your computer to connect and update. View all information from the device by connecting it to a computer with the supplied USB cable. It comes in a sturdy plastic travel box that includes an OBD/II cable and I found the cable that came with it to be long enough to get the job done which was a pleasant surprise. The button layout and general controls are fairly intuitive for anyone with an electronics background, so as long as you can use your phone and TV remote you should be fine. I still have a long way to go to take full advantage of it, but it tells me how good an investment it is.
