I compulsively buy every top down sweater book I can find. I was hoping this would make a good addition to my collection, but there is very little benefit in owning this book. First thing I liked about the book: a good section on necklines and collars. I was tired of the old crew neck sweater and this book gave me the idea to try the turtleneck. Some sweaters are beautiful and I think they can serve as inspiration. What I didn't like: everything else. The author claims her way of starting with a collar and avoiding any neck shape is revolutionary. It is not. It's simplistic and makes the clothes look ridiculous. Overlapping more stitches at the front than at the back could not compensate for the lack of neck shape. I myself don't mind going back and picking up stitches on the neck to make a collar. This gives a more polished look. If you look at the photos, you can see that some models have the front of the sweater pulled up around the neck. I want to take off my sweater just looking at her! Sweaters with wider and lower cuts look normal without correction. And the armpits on the sweaters are very deep. One of the reasons for top-down sweaters is that you can try them on on the go. If you are already on the wrong side and do not have the required number of stitches, do not knit any further! Just place extra stitches on the armpits. I would not spend money on this book. There are few sweaters that are attractive enough
