Review on 🏡 Greenleaf Corona Dollhouse Orchid 9301G: Perfect Miniature Replica for Orchid Enthusiasts by Kyle Merriman

This was my first dollhouse. But I have made some sets for mini rooms and mini houses. I'm glad I did it because it prepared me. There was a guide on what each piece is and where to find it in the tree area. Illustrated assembly instructions are included. The instructions include recommendations for painting before assembly. Which I am very happy about. The quality of the wood I had was very poor so I had to paint it. There were even sheets that were laminated and came in two different colors on the back. The wood wasn't primed so it soaked up water and caused some warping. (Difficult to machine already deformed parts or deform undeformed parts). Lamination, which reacted differently to water-based paints, was a major contributor to subsequent warping. I used wallpaper paper to avoid using so much paint that I can't leave the walls unfinished due to the quality of the wood and the discoloration. I had a warped hardwood floor on the second floor before I painted it. It warped even more after I painted one side. Part of the tree was damaged by insects, see photo. I was lucky it was the back and not the front and they were small pieces. I had a lot of wood chips, especially fragile surfaces, that I had to glue together. This was done by cutting the pieces very carefully and using an X-Acto knife. I had problems with wood breaking when sanding, so I couldn't sand too much. It took me a whole morning to pound out the pieces and sand (not counting the shingles). The tiles were more than enough to cover everything. The manual recommended Aleccia's multipurpose glue, but like white glue, it contains a lot of water and causes the wood to curl. I have found that quick drying Beacons 1-3 adhere better and reduce buckling. Also the hot glue gun did a great job tiling and gluing thin surfaces. I used Elmer's spray glue to stick the cut out paper to the walls, there is a bit of wiggle room. Finally I used modgepodg sealer to seal the wallpaper. I had to close the plastic windows because they are fogging up now. If you want to add lighting, do it while building the walls, it's a lot easier. It was also helpful to mark the bottom of the pieces to keep track of what goes where. a plus, but you can easily spend a month or more if you spend an hour or two nights. I lost track of time while working on the sections. Many notches/tabs will not fit without modification. I had to cut tabs and slots to make it fit and due to the quality of the wood the wood warped. Making these mini kits really prepared me for this. I wouldn't recommend that as a start. Using the right kind of glue really helps. I would give it a 4 if the large parts didn't warp so much. If you want to make furniture to match the seller's website (Greenleaf, not Amazon) you have a good selection of kits that fit that ratio.
