I built a bike with quick release wheels and disc brakes. Traditional quick release skewers didn't seem to hold up well, so I decided to try them to add a little strength. I thought I found the holy grail, these skewers seemed to hold my wheels very securely. I drove them for about a month and they seemed to do the job. One day, on the way home, my bike suddenly stopped and I was the first to be thrown onto the sidewalk. The rear wheel fell out of the dropouts and got stuck in the frame, stopping the wheel and causing my unplanned flight. The skewers have a small silver metal ring that appears to be attached to the black outer nut with some sort of glue. The silver ring detached from the outside, exposing the skewers as I rode. I broke the seat post, saddle, fenders and rear derailleur in the accident so I need to replace them and of course find new quick releases as well. I cannot recommend them to anyone. I don't know if yours will break like mine, but I don't think it's worth the risk.
