I replaced the one that broke in half and came with the bike as an original part. The length of the rear wheel quick release shaft is just right. After installing it and checking how far the shaft comes out of the adjusting nut, I was relatively happy with the result. I would almost never notice anything sticking out of the adjustment nut. These skewers are the best combination of quality, safety and weight I have found. They replace some inexpensive, very light skewers that only weighed about 50 grams but had breakable nylon washers. The lever on these inexpensive skewers never felt well off-center when clamping, and I never felt they offered a secure hold.
