These skewers are the best combination of quality, safety and weight I have found. They replace some inexpensive, very light skewers that only weighed about 50 grams but had breakable nylon washers. The lever on these inexpensive skewers never felt well off-center when clamping, and I never felt they offered a secure hold. These CORKI skewers cost twice as much and weigh a little more at 68 grams, but they're much, much better. They feel very sturdy and well made and weigh a lot less than the original equipment 127g skewers that came with my expensive bike. Instead of flipping a lever like traditional skewers, twist the lever to clamp the skewers. This approach, combined with the good workmanship of the skewers, results in a better and more reliable clamping force. Once you've tightened the skewer, pull out the lever to position it anywhere. This is a great idea and a great way to attach the axles to the frame!
