This remote replaces the discontinued Carper 300. It works great and is half the price of the Carper 300. You will need a jeweler's screwdriver to remove the screw on the back to access the DIP switches and battery. The markings on the DIP are fairly small so you may need a magnifying glass. A small sheet of paper is wedged between the battery and the connector. This prevents accidental discharge of the battery during transport. Remove the piece of paper. The operation of this remote control is better than that of the Carper 300. This remote control has a large button that is located in a thumb-sized recess on the remote control cover. This way you can record it in the dark and not have to look at the device to use it. The remote came in a small box that was crumpled like an accordion during shipping. However, the device worked perfectly.
