I took a sculpting class and it worked great! Large selection of entry-level tools at a fantastic price. Wire tools aren't great for heavy-duty use in ceramic clay, but they're great for more delicate, detailed work. I believe this set would work well for polymer clay and the like. After trying out some of the tools, I was able to figure out which ones I liked and which ones I would improve. It wasn't free at all as the cost of all this was just a few upgrades. There was room in the bag to add my heavier tools and keep everything in order. Once you open it, everything is easy to find. I liked it very much!
