It's not an opener It's not! And the box doesn't say anything about it - the description is misleading. It's pretty much all plastic except for the blade and a few other little things and weighs about half the weight of mine old Cuisinart Die Can Opener Cast.(Why do companies make an amazing product for a while and then just quit? This old Cuisinart was a workhorse and a beautiful thing that lasted *many* years - until one of the few plastic parts on it just died is.) You need a heavy-duty can opener, look elsewhere If you need a device that's mostly metal, look elsewhere I expect it to last about a year if I'm lucky be, in the meantime I'll try to find something better for it.
