Good pre-filter. Fits HOT Magnum and most round air intakes. Fluval also makes good pre-filters if you need a smaller cell or a less coarse pre-filter. This Marineland will keep most juvenile fish out of your filter or pump, but the cells can be large enough for inverted babies to crawl through. One star deducted because of rubbish ("crumbs") in the packaging. Most likely it is just sponge lining and not material damage. I recommend rinsing well to remove "crumbs" before putting them in the aquarium.
