We have an "elephant" humidifier that works well and we've never had a problem so we bought an owl for our second child. Unfortunately, his head isn't fixed as tightly and the vapor just erupts. During the night it soaked the carpet in our child's room, ruined the table it was sitting on, and on medium/low settings the water went out completely. We tried taping the head to make the seal tighter, but that still didn't help much. At the moment the humidifier with this defect is scrap.
