Review on Reflective Breakaway Collar With Bell For Small Pets - TCBOYING Kitten Collars Perfect For Cats And Small Dogs by Phil Show

Revainrating 4 out of 5

What constitutes breakaway? The buckle?

The buckle just pulls apart but who dictates how much effort is needed to choke a cat before the buckle gives? There’s no stretchy section of collar so they can escape a branch or whatever gets ahold of them.Collars are nice besides that. Reflective, colorful, fun. My cat has a slip on tag of information so I had to cut off the integral buckle, but was easily able to remelt the color back together with a lighter. Removed the excess color my small cat didn’t need. Overall a decent collar. I’ll probably switch to something with a stretchy portion though. I’m a worried cat mom (dad). My little jerk slips out the door all the time so I need to be sure she’s going to have every opportunity to come back safely.

Pros
  • Ideal for pets that are prone to running away
Cons
  • The reflective material might not be visible from all angles

I bought these because our pups are visually-impaired. (Both have cataracts & one had an eneucleation.) The pup who had an eneucleation is a bit jumpy since she only has 1 eye. I put a collar on each of our cats & both pups. I also wear one around my ankle (as does anyone who comes around her). Within minutes, she''s already figured out that the jingly bell sound means someone (or one of her fur siblings) is approaching. She''s already much calmer. This not only let''s her know someone is near, but she easily pinpoints where they are now. These are excellent! Well made - especially for the price.
