The easiest way I can explain its purpose is as a giant zipped pocket for your trunk lol. only with closure. This saves LOTS of time as opposed to plugging and reseating everything. We also almost had someone steal it from the mall. but my husband conveniently and purposely covered a piece of the tarp on the tailgate so they couldn't rip it out. So definitely easy to assemble, NO air gets in so no slamming from the tarp on the way to your destination, loads of room and space for everything you need, weather protection and it doesn't draw much attention when travelling.
