There are better alternatives

I am giving two stars because staggering your bikes (handlebar up/handlebar down/handlebar up) works for some people and saves space as shown. But the product is poorly made, the instructions abysmal and there are many better alternatives. My problems: โ€ข The hooks only hold the wheel in one place without holding it. Other racks have another metal lip under the hook that holds the wheel and keeps the bike straight. If you come across a bike in a rack, you'll come across everyone. โ€ข Hooks are weak. Forget the 130lb weight - they can (accidentally) be bent with bare hands โ€ข Slide rail has rubber inserts to support the underside of the hook assemblies and hold them in place (to keep them from sliding sideways). They'll fall out and you'll never find them on a regular garage floor again. I take it off, throw it away and go back to separate hooks that bolt to the 2 x 4. Better support, maybe a little more money, and the bikes will be safer.
