Review on Cat8 Ethernet Cable, 6FT Heavy Duty High Speed 26AWG LAN Network Cable 40Gbps, 2000Mhz - Outdoor/Indoor, Weatherproof & UV Resistant for Router by Jason Melvin

If you don't want to be taken for the bait, buy Cat 6 cables and avoid these cables!

I bought two of these "Cat 8" cables for router to modem and router to computer Ethernet cables. The original cable between my modem and the router was a Cat 5e cable provided by the router manufacturer. The cable between my router and my computer is a Best Buy Cat 6 cable. Before installing these two cables, I had no problems streaming, playing video games, and other devices connected to the same network. After installing these two cables I had nothing but problems with these cables. They should NOT be marketed as Cat 8 standards as they feel stiff and very light like there are no cables inside. You WILL experience severe packet loss on these cables and lose streaming connections at any time. I've had them longer than the 30 day return policy. I thought it was my computer as I uninstalled all network drivers then reinstalled and installed the latest firmware on the router. I want to return these cables as the manufacturer's claims do not support their product. The only words they provide are the FLUKE test, which was most likely wrong.

Pros
  • Ethernet cable
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
