I've been looking for a decent wired router for many years. Basically we have ethernet cables because where the cable enters is its terrible place for Wi-Fi, so why not just unplug it? The problem I always run into is that most of them are either so pro-oriented (Ubiquiti) that I can't figure it out. Or they're so expensive that it makes sense to just buy another mid-range WiFi router and disable WiFi. It was a good balance. Simple enough, with the advanced features I was looking for. Only real criticisms: 1. They don't update the firmware very often. which makes me nervous about security.2. You cannot view reserved IP addresses (or view names). Seriously how hard is it? It's not the end of the world, just create a table. Oddly enough, all DHCP clients display their names. Maybe they think it's superfluous? In any case, it's a bit annoying. Overall I'm really impressed. No uptime issues (after 6 months I reshuffled a few cables and it was the first time it had restarted in months). Finally, I would like to go into the topic of VPN a bit. but I think it's for future editing.
