We bought these shears to cut raw chicken hoping to quickly make a large pack of whole wings in drums and records to transform. In addition, the design and material is excellent. There were no problems with the spring version. There is a large notch in the back where your shoulder is at its maximum. Minus - these scissors are not enough. I have big hands, and if I loosen my grip enough to let the bone go into the notch, it means I'm at the limit of my grip. At 9 3/4" from pinky to thumb it's hard to control. I don't think anyone with small hands will like these shears very much. Out of the box performance was good, not great. I had to tighten the scissors Blades first use as they only cut raw leather at the blade tip not the middle and certainly not the root Once set they worked beautifully.
