Great as it uses an FTDI chipset which is very important. Production chipsets are not as reliable. Plugged it into my Win10 PC and let Windows handle it. Said it installed fine but I had to update the driver in Control Panel Device Manager. I pointed to the Win10 FTDI folder on the included driver CD and everything worked great. The next best thing is that it has a built-in null modem and a proper DB9 socket, eliminating the need to use a separate null modem or gender changer. The last plus is the LEDs. The green LED (sending to the USB end of the cable) will flash to indicate data is being uploaded from the device and the orange LED will flash to indicate serial traffic is coming to the device on the RS-232 end of the DB9. This eliminates another cumbersome serial port tester and gives you an instant visual indication of serial port activity. Finally, the DB9 has two thumbscrews to secure it to the device to ensure it doesn't come loose even when the device is being handled. I personally use it to control my old HP 48SX machine in a protective case with an RS-232 port on the outside.
