Firstly, keep in mind that devices in this price range are not the latest generation of technology. This is a Gen 1 lamp, but it is a very good Gen 1 little tube. Fits in the palm of your hand and is very light (even with 5 batteries). The on-screen menus are intuitive, as is switching between modes (e.g. camera to video). All IR brightness buttons and the camera button are located on the top of the device. A brighter night image was obtained with an IR illuminator. darker without. It has a built-in permanent zoom. But it's a nuance I like to use. Focusing is very easy with large knobs. Highly recommended.
