Before I bought this I used an inexpensive Harbor Freight. I only used the Harbor Freight Tool once on the left/right side because it was difficult to use and close to breaking. It was difficult to hold the ball joint in place as it tried to loosen when tightened. With this part, however, it was surprisingly easy to remove the ball joints! I've used it several times and it never wanted to loosen when you tightened it and I never had to use its hydraulic part because the ball joints kept loosening unnecessarily. This is a very durable tool that makes working with the frontend easier. But that applies to large ball joints on passenger cars, not smaller ones. For example, on my Chrysler 300, it works well with the lower ball joints, but is too large to use with the upper ball joints.
