hard to find a tie
I am an artist. I use masking tape to attach my art paper to the alligator board. I fasten everything around, like in a frame. When the painting is done I just pry up the corners and pull out the tape and any staples. It's a great way to keep the paper taut as you work, and easy to take it off when you're done.
