Review on πŸ› οΈ JTC Auto Body Shop Fender Roller Tool for Lip Rolling and Extending by Alan Brewer

An annoying design flaw, but it gets the job done!

Used this tool to roll the rear fenders on my Miata. The packaging was ok, the assembly instructions are just a black and white photo of the tool. I just looked at an image of the tool online to get an idea of how it works together. The tool hardly ever cleans small cars, I wouldn't use it on anything smaller than a Miata. I had completely removed the lever for the entire process, but luckily it still had some wiggle room to get the reel to do its job. After a little work he rolled the edge of the wing, can't complain about the result (very smooth and even), and it's a lot easier to do than the old wooden baseball bat trick that never gets pretty. One of the main disadvantages is that the large "bolt" (the main bolt with a vise-like grip) holding the reel against the wing is retained. secure to the base pin with a pair of washers and a nylon locknut. Once you push the fender down the locknut will snap into the pin and if you continue tightening and applying pressure to the fender the locknut will eventually loosen the main bolt. I only noticed after it stopped applying pressure and then suddenly rebounded as the idler arm disengaged. I had to use a wrench and turn the nut with a turnbuckle to keep it from backing out. But for $50, there's not much to complain about. People charge $40+ per wing when you can buy this cheap tool and make as many wings as you want. Apart from the obvious design flaw, it works well and I found it a lot of hard work, I completed both wings in an hour and barely worked a sweat.
