Easy installation, works well.

If you have a VW or Audi 2.0T FSI engine you need to buy this. The standard engine air filter is located in the engine cover and is difficult to access. By installing it in a car, you replace the engine cover entirely, making the coils, spark plugs and air filter more accessible. This provides a small but significant increase in performance. The engine noise isn't much louder, but there's a clearer, more pleasant intake noise on the front left, where the air filter is located, when accelerating with the turbo. A bypass valve is not required with this cold air intake as with other intakes as the risk of water ingestion is very low. The filter is located relatively high up in the front of the engine compartment, not low off the ground, so it's very unlikely to be submerged in water unless you're going into a river. The filter is oiled to prevent water droplets entering through the air intake at the front of the vehicle from entering the intake manifold. Some of the following tools are required: 10mm socket 8mm socket 20T Torx screwdriver 3mm Allen key A long rod with a magnet on the end is useful for grabbing screws/nuts/bolts that fall out of hand during installation. The instructions are very complete. If the narration says "Use the hardware that comes with it", be sure to refer to the exploded view on the front to find out which nuts/bolts/washers/spring washers to use with the stage. The hardest part of the install was removing the old hose connecting the old airbox/engine cover to the turbo inlet and removing the bolt on the back of the engine. The old hose was quite tight to the metal turbo inlet and it took some effort/peeling to remove the rubber from the metal cover. I managed to pull it off without tearing the rubber, but never mind as I'll never put an old airbox back on. The bolt unscrews, but the top of the bolt is plastic and will fall apart if you use enough force to unscrew it. There is no reason not to buy this filter. Do that. Recommend purchasing a K&N filter cleaning kit for future filter cleaning and a MAF cleaner so you can clean the MAF sensor when installing this intake.
