I had an IOGear 2-port KVM switch, but with a third computer I needed something bigger. It looked like it would work. This works well once set up, but there are a few things to keep in mind: 1) The cables that come with it are quite bulky. If it's a desktop setup like mine, leave plenty of desk space for all those bulky cables. 2) This only works with wired keyboards and mice. I had wireless, but none of the computers I had (all Win10 computers) recognized USB connections. It wasn't until I started using a wired keyboard and mouse (which Staples luckily had in a pinch) that I was able to use them successfully. Clients with it - there is a firmware update for the device. You can download a firmware update, e.g. a driver, BUT the only way to download this update to your device is to use a cable (included with the switch) that has a network connector on one end to connect it to the switch and the other End is a female VGA connector. When I asked my husband if we had an adapter or something so I could update the firmware, he saw that the VGA adapter was for an older desktop computer with a COM port. Almost nobody has them, and certainly not among modern consumers! I'm willing to bet that the firmware I can't load into the Switch will allow me to use my wireless devices instead of going out and buying wired ones (which are almost hard to find even at Staples). - only one option for a wired keyboard and two options for a mouse). If everything is configured correctly, everything works fine. I didn't plug in a mic (I have a Blue Yeti) or set up speakers because I'd rather just use what's on separate laptops (which rarely use mics and such anyway), and I was also running out of desk space . So if you remember that wiring is cumbersome and you need a wired keyboard and mouse, you should be fine if you use a modern machine to connect to the switch. IOGear really needs to make these compact devices that are modern and have thinner cabling (laptops have either HDMI or VGA, but not both) for consumer use. Everything works fine now that I've got it set up, but now I've lost some of my workspace due to the massive cables. And I hate wired keyboards and wired mice, but here it is. This is what I need to do so I can use a 3 device keyboard, mouse and monitor. The product works well but I think they would have a better market if they made a more consumer friendly or consumer friendly version compared to the industrial version which I suppose could be. (IOGear- - I would be more than willing to be a tester for such a product if you made one!)
