I highly recommend this beautiful quilt. To address the concerns and other thoughts of other reviewers, it washes very well as advertised with no discoloration or shrinkage. It's very soft, not hard at all. It's fairly light, which is fine, but you'll need an extra blanket in cold weather. This is a true patchwork quilt as it is made like a quilt of fluffy material between 2 layers of fabric and sewn all over to hold the 3 layers together. For the price, these are naturally printed squares, not squares sewn together! This does not detract from its beauty. However, you might be disappointed if you use them with the blue side of the blanket with the white stars facing up. It looks like some kind of thin fabric was used as a template for the embroidery. Only on the back small pieces of it got stuck in the seams. They could be laboriously cut off or torn off. Only on the back were a few tiny white spots, as if there were no blue paint, and a spot with a bundle of thread tied in a knot. See photo. The top is perfect. I am very happy with this blanket and have just bought another one in case anything happens to this one.
