This tool you keep in your car to check tire pressure is advertised. But people also buy these for personal protection in the car or even at home. What you buy and keep is your choice. Just be sure to check your local club's gun laws. The tool itself is just a hard wooden stick that's fairly light, but when used as a tire hammer or as a bludgeon it can pack a punch. The only complaints I have about the design are that it has small indentations on either end. I can easily get Wood Filler to take care of them, so it's not that big of a deal. I don't like the band either. Yes, it helps not to drop it, but I find that they get in the way. I personally took the cord out of the hole, wrapped it around the grooves in the handle and burned the ends of the cord to give the cord a better grip. In summary, this is a $10 wooden stick to use. as a legal car tool, club or both. If you buy one, make sure you don't get in trouble with the law by carrying a stick in your car.
