I bought this product to use with the winch on my Polaris Ranger which is used primarily for snow removal. From the start, the Polaris contactor worked intermittently while plowing, causing great frustration as the plow could not be raised or lowered. Being an electrical engineer I assumed the problem was electrical but every time I pulled out the multimeter to check the contactor it started working. After I discussed the problem with my Polaris dealer they suggested a new contactor but to my great disappointment this did not solve the problem. In the second winter of operation, I continued to have problems and kept looking for solutions. Since I couldn't find anything wrong with the electrical system, I thought it might be a mechanical problem with the contactor. Turns out I was right and the works contactor was indeed stuck in the open position and could be released by hitting hard. Still finding it quite frustrating trying to get out and bang on the contactor while trying to plow snow, I decided to look for a replacement and found this product. I am pleased to report that I have been using this new contactor for over a year now. and didn't have any of the problems I had with the OEM version. This model also costs less than 1/3 of what I paid for an OEM replacement. If you are looking for a winch protector, I definitely recommend this model.
