Second day of using this little filter. My all-female guppies had babies unexpectedly, and when I realized they were real fish and not tadpoles (first time I've had a fish...) I shoveled them into my old chicken bowl in a panic. It quickly became cloudy, but I don't want to invest in a large aquarium until I've separated the males from the females. I only needed a small filter/bubbler and so far it's working. The first picture shows how cloudy the water was the morning after the young were put into the faucet bowl. The bubble surface in the second image. The bubbles are bigger than I expected, but honestly they're not a problem. In fact, the roasts love to ride and play with them. My cherry shrimp are a lot happier too. (And oxygenated. I feel terrible.) The third shot shows how much he cleaned up on the second day, although it's hard to tell since I moved the bowl away from the window. But I can definitely tell the difference. So far, so good. I'll report if it doesn't go any further. Ps Bought a small air pump and hose for a separate small stone bubbler. Just cut the tubing in half and add the included check valve (none of which are included with this filter) and it works great.
