Works great when you're not in a hurry. See instructions below: 1. Open the tailgate 2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal (black, not red)3. Carefully remove the air vent with the plastic trim on the inside of the tailgate4. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the locking mechanism (press the top of the tab and pull it towards you) 5. Disconnect the green clip from the first metal bar (pull the green clip from 12 to the right to 3) and pull metal bar from the locking mechanism 6. Separate the purple clip from the second metal bar (pull the purple clip to the right). right from 6 to 3) and pull the metal rod out of the latch7 . Remove the 3 torx screws (T27) on the right inside of the rear door that attach the latch mechanism to the rear door8. Reverse these instructions for installation. Tip 1. If you are having trouble getting the 2 metal rods back into the new lock, loosen the 3 torx screws so you can move the new lock up and down (play). Tip 2: If the green and purple (grey) clips on the new locking mechanism are a bit loose or not secure enough, you may need to remove the green and purple clips from the old locking mechanism and attach them to the new one. Tip 3: If you have difficulty opening the tailgate after installing a new latch mechanism and closing the tailgate, apply lithium grease to the tailgate latch portion. The new locking mechanism will most likely not be lubricated. You will find that the old one is there. Tip 4: If it doesn't seem to be working, there's a slightly hidden adjustment screw. You can see this through the hole in the same location on the tailgate with the torx screws (bottom right hole in the picture). Insert an Allen key there, loosen it, slide the screw all the way and tighten it. Was working on my 2015.
