A good and inexpensive way to repair plaster

Excellent product. It takes some getting used to. I tried drilling with a shovel, it was terrible, the plaster is too dry. A few more things I learned: We have a drill press with three settings: one for drilling pilot holes, one for drywall screws, and one for button head screws. If I were using drywall adjustments it would be easy to tell when I was pressing the lathe, but it wasn't always level for a quick flush repair. I ended up using the pilot setting most of the time. It worked very well. Don't be afraid to drill a few holes if you can't get spinning right away. Oh this is hot dusty work, make sure you have a dust mask handy. I also added some fiberglass tape to take the layer off. a little easier. Overall, this is a great product that you can easily install on tricky spots like the bathroom ceiling for a pretty cheap price compared to the other types of "stucco repair kits" that cost at least three times as much. the same amount and take at least twice as long. My parents are coming back in a week and I'm not done yet!
