I have an old iMac (2012) and a new Macbook Air. When using this with an iMac the max resolution is 1080p which means every app is HUGE on the big screen. With Air I can increase the resolution and that's fine. Also, I saw a review that said it wasn't bright enough and didn't look as good as an Apple screen. If you're experimenting with color profiles in your display settings that match those on your computer, this shouldn't be a problem. This isn't the case by default, so you'll need to set it up manually. But after that everything is great. And it costs about 1/10th the cost of a new Apple display. I'm sure Apple's display is better, but someone else would have to shell out over $3,000 for it.
