Bought this power supply to replace the Diamond GZV4000 40A switching power supply. The Diamond power supply produces spurious signals that appear on the 80m and 40m bands. Reviews and complaints about this power supply are that it is very clean in terms of radio interference. I did not find any significant difference between this power supply and the Diamond power supply in terms of radiated RF noise. Claims that this MFJ power supply can be quiet may be due to the switching frequency, which appears to be less stable than that of the Diamond power supply. This spreads the RF switching noise over a wider bandwidth, resulting in a slightly quieter sound. Bottom line, good headroom, but don't expect it to be exceptionally quiet. Stuart ki6qp
