First the coffee itself. I bought French Roast Decaf and it fits the description very well. It's dark and strong, which is what I want in my coffee (I don't like most decaffeinated "blends" that only taste heavily diluted with water). My biggest issue with the packaging is that they put 12 capsules in a sealed pouch. I'm the only decaf coffee drinker in the house and I usually use a reusable Sollifill cup with my own decaffeinated bulk. Sometimes I like to use a pre-filled capsule, but that's about once a week. The problem is that as soon as I open a bag of 12 SF Bay capsules I feel like I need to use them up quickly before they become stale. I understand that individually packaging is starting to win the eco-friendly approach, but there can be a trade-off. Maybe 3 or 4 in a pack? Finally, the fact that "compostable composting" doesn't help me at all. If I can't compost it myself, my other choice is to toss it in the kitchen waste, which means it ends up in landfill like a regular K-Cup pod. If it doesn't break there, I don't see much of a difference from a standard K-Cup.
