While it's a good thing that this product is made in the USA (which was one of the reasons we bought it), the cheap control valve on this torch doesn't have an 'adjust' feature everything - it is not very well made and very delicate as it is very difficult to turn on / adjust the flame. You hardly open the valve. You can hear the output starting at one level and then increasing (by itself, without even touching the dial), and then when you try to light it - too much, and the flashlight goes out. So you're trying to solve by turning it off (turning the knob just a tiny bit to reduce the power output) and then... the burner won't keep burning because the flame's power continues to decrease and goes out). You keep trying to turn the regulator knob almost all the way to find a middle ground, which is impossible as the valve is poorly finished and doesn't adjust as far as it clearly should. By the way, my husband came to this conclusion after trying to make this item burn and he worked with it for 15-20 minutes. He's a mechanic, familiar with welding, torches, propane, air compressors, etc.) So. He says he now needs to buy a better quality (higher quality) regulator to retrofit this product in order for it to work successfully. Conclusion: The manufacturer should have made this burner with a much better regulator that actually has the ability to BE ADJUSTABLE to keep the flame pressure steady enough to burn. On the plus side, it's definitely ergonomic, which is a nice feature, and when we could get it to stay on (2 times out of 10-15 tries), it burned weed as advertised. but the issue with it staying on/lighting up and THEN actually lighting up made buying this product a deal breaker in my opinion.
