These aren't the only inks I use, but Speedball Super Black is my favorite ink for use with steel tips. I have tried several lacquer inks and of these, Speedball is the thickest and driest of all. I appreciate that as I can get very thin lines even with not very good pens and on imperfect paper. It's also much quicker and easier to thin the ink than to thicken it.
