I LOVE this item. Love it. I had one of those old-fashioned hot water pots that whistle when the water is boiling. Well one day I had to go outside to talk to a neighbor, I forgot the pot and the metal burned and all the plastic parts melted. I was about to buy another old heating pad when someone suggested I try a kettle instead. So I came to Revain, read some reviews and settled on this device. GOD OH GOD I love this thing. First, the water boils almost instantly, I'm not kidding. A full pot will cook in just a minute or two, while a half-empty pot will cook in seconds. The speed at which these kettles boil water is just incredibly fast. In addition, the device switches itself off as soon as it reaches the boiling point. No more "house almost got on fire" incidents like my neighbor knocking on my door. This thing boils water so quickly and easily that I end up drinking a lot more hot tea. It's also great for things like Cup O' Pasta as it boils water a lot faster than my microwave. Finally, the pan itself is wireless (the base unit is wired). This means it's easy to pour or even carry to another room. Another appliance I reviewed at Revain had reviews where people complained that the power cord was so short that they had to unplug the pot every time they poured water out of it. I'm very glad I got this machine instead. Edit: It is now 2019 and the button on the kettle no longer works. No matter how many times you press the button (to heat water), the button keeps turning off, meaning you can't boil water. Adding this edit, let's mention that this teapot has served me for a little over three years.
