Review on Precision 231A Deluxe Multi Network Tester by Wayne Girard

Got an amazing discount on it and it's definitely a well designed and thought out tester. I know B&K Precision for their high quality power supplies and benchtop meters. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the cheapest they sell! Supplied with multiple adapters etc for testing different cables but essentially it is 1-8G RJ45. It has a remote control as well as two rows on the block itself for local testing. Automatic/manual mode. When I got mine the auto mode wasn't working (and I think the only way to get it moving forward would be to toggle the power on and off), it was due to a low battery. It's a great little device, but I'm not sure I'd replace it at full price - a cable tester like this is by no means an accurate tool, and any number of cheap devices should do the job perfectly. While this device feels sturdy and durable, I'm not entirely sure it's worth the premium price tag. However, deals can be made and if you're willing to wait or go broke, this is a really good tester.
