Removed Sea Star struts from a Project 2000 boat that was used in salt water. I tried everything before I found this tool and it worked in about 15 minutes. He scratched the mounts, but nothing serious and no worse than corrosion. It took a few tries to get it right so it didn't come loose from the mount. The key to success in my application was to lubricate the bolt to prevent seizing and allow the two forks to go through the end of the bracket and be snug against the shoulder; see photos for details. I also had to use a propane torch and a PB blaster for one side. Look for videos on how to use the tool. I also love how the end cap on the screw can be removed to allow the screw to fit in the bracket to get everything. End: see photo. Definitely the right tool for the job.
