This yarn is double ply so it can be used for knitting, but for crafts you may need to double the gauge. It is suitable for projects and scrapbooking as well as accent items or closed boxes for a professional look. Just note that this is a two-ply yarn. So if you want a thicker yarn, you need to consider the Maya Road brand instead. I bought it because of the light color and was hoping it would be thicker than it looks, but the photo shows it accurately on all brands of baker's twine. The colors of the Bakers yarns are bright and vibrant, just like Maya Road, but I needed that special mix of yellow and white.
