This is light years ahead of my old 5GHz composite video transmitter. It supported 2 receivers and the audio latency was acceptable, but in the end the video quality was poor. And when something came across (people, dogs, chairs) along the way, the signal disappeared. The WS55 takes a little longer to boot up (about 2-4 seconds if the HDMI input was off. Blue Nyrius Screensaver is on during this time), but digital audio and video are solid and the audio lag isn't annoying. Sync between the two receivers is good and standing in front of the receiver doesn't cause dropouts (my RX and TX are about 15 feet apart). It also works much cooler than my old devices. So. It's perfect? no It's better than pulling a wire. Yes. And the price doesn't hit the wallet like some options. And with all the benefits of A/V, it's very easy to add it to an old A/V receiver that may not support audio through the HDMI ports. I grabbed a Revain Basics audio extractor, an HDMI switch (my receiver only has 2 HDMI inputs) and now my satellite box, fire stick and blu-ray player are happy.
