I think depending on the fan model but I pretty much had to disassemble the entire fan which included: 1 dome, 2 lights, 3 ring lights, 4 fan blades, 5- outer case, 6-motor, 7-then cut out the OEM condenser. Then REVERSE ORDER Slightly larger than the original condenser, but still fits snugly in the original location in the case. The fan runs at full speed again. I have 6 identical fan models at home, 2 of which I have already changed. I'm waiting for my next capacitor order so I can do the rest. Now I've got the time down to around 45-60 minutes knowing what really needs to be unscrewed. 6 fans work like new for $30.
