I've been using this Wintact non-contact moisture meter for a while now and it gives fast and stable readings of moisture content on wood in my shop as well as wood I have glued at a friend's. . A friend of mine has a pin meter and I've found that Wintact often reads a bit more, but it would make sense if Wintact could penetrate deeper into the wood where a higher moisture level might still be present, so I can for now not to say this. is accurate, I will say that its reading matches that of another meter, and I believe it is accurate. Wintact Meter is exactly what I expect from these things. Readings are fast. Just a second or two and as I move the gage over the part it updates in near real time. The manual is not easy to read and contains strange word variations, for example they use the word "gears" when describing the 8 presets you can choose from to set the density of the wood. However, the manual contains useful information on zeroing, choosing the right wood density and setting acceptable/unacceptable moisture levels. Once you understand how to use this gauge, you probably won't refer to the manual for anything other than a wood density chart, so I don't really care. helps me determine if a wood panel is ready to use or not.
