I like that they match my scarlet plates, water cans etc and that they are regular Fiesta quality BUT they are larger than I expected (even for the kitchen). for use only) and when you fill the salt shaker to the top it is quite heavy. This may not be a problem for most, but if you have arthritis or other limitations/pain in your fingers or wrists it can be a problem. I shook out half the salt. I hate the little round ones that look like they're straight out of the 1960's, so I'm going to keep using my existing set of small tabletop salt and pepper shakers until they come up with a third style of shaker design.
