The external slots have an adjustable screw that expands the holder to the desired size. The center slot is not adjustable and either works or it doesn't. In my case it's not for me. I have 4 laptops, 3 for work and one personal, all bought in the last 12 months and none of them fit in the middle slot. While he truthfully says it has 3 slots, if you don't have a super thin laptop, the middle slot is better for a tablet.
