Plug and Play compatibility with Surprise Performance Improvement

I bought this to upgrade a 1 year old Dell Vostro 3500 Core i3-370m laptop that I was repurposing for my son for college use. Since I was doing a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit, I wanted to make the best use of memory so that multiple Linux VMs could run without too much of a performance hit. The Dell BIOS recognized the Kingston RAM immediately with no complaints or blue screen errors. Win7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit operating system and Microsoft Office 2010 software are stable and running without errors or memory problems. The surprise came when my son launched a graphics intensive game that used to be too slow to play, which is unacceptable. More RAM shouldn't make much of a difference for this game; What I did notice, however, was that the new Kingston RAM was also much faster than the original OEM RAM, and the laptop uses an integrated Intel GPU that uses (or shares) the system RAM instead of the dedicated graphics memory. The laptop was originally bought for my wife who doesn't game much so it didn't require a high end graphics card. To satisfy our curiosity, we launched several iterations of the built-in Windows Experience Index** tool with the new 8GB of Kingston memory. 1333 with original Dell OEM 4GB RAM 1066 and 8GB Dell OEM 1066 RAM borrowed from a similar laptop. In short, the faster Kingston 1333 RAM resulted in a 1.4 point improvement in WEI performance in Memory Operations Per Second and an unexpected 1.8 point improvement in WEI performance in Game Graphics: 3D Business and Game Graphics Performance . The Dell OEM 1066 RAM in 4GB and 8GB configurations performs the same, potentially eliminating the additional memory as the main reason for the performance boost. Graphics: Windows Aero Desktop performance compared to Dell OEM 1066 RAM in 4GB and 8GB configurations. At least strange. Verdict: Kingston RAM's compatibility, performance, and stability put it on my list of recommendations. keeping things simple and minimizing the possibility of external factors affecting results. TAKE OUR WEI BENCHMARKS AT A HUGE REDUCTION AND EXPECT YOUR EXPERIENCE TO TRANSFORM! Our tests were completed in under an hour with minimal supervision on a very clean/patched/updated driver/freshly installed computer.
