So I bought this brand as well as well woven branded washable mats. I have a puppy so I put her with the others. Both are rug thin. This makes sense as there is no way a regular rug will fit in your washing machine. So if you want a regular rug this is not for you. I wanted 2 things. Cover my floor non-slip and wash well. Here is a summary and differences in each brand. I prefer this brand (mylife) and here's why. The base is a hard sheet of vinyl, like these plastic picnic tablecloths. The well-woven material also has a rubber backing, and while neither brand is bouncing, I love the waterproof backing of this model. The feel of the two carpets is completely different. A well woven rug looks like a very low pile rug, does not feel soft and rough, but those looking for a rug with a more rug like feel will like it. This brand squeezes a little when you step on it and the feel is like a velvety feel. Both wash perfectly in the top load washing machine and I hang them outside to dry. Dries pretty quickly.
