If you want to lock up your valuables, this is not a lock. But if you want to lock the gate or whatever else in your house to keep the kids out, this works great. Reading some of the reviews it seems to me that people don't know how to follow the instructions. I had no problem learning my fingerprints and used 3 for each lock. Yes, wet or dirty fingers won't work, but wipe your finger and it will. I saw someone say it didn't have a notch but I looked at both and they do have a notch. I've been using mine for a few months now and haven't had any problems. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a basic lock.
