Hello from (cold) NH. Up here these things are almost MANDATORY. I said almost. I used to use a cheaper brand and bought them from Snow Joe for an upgrade. The old one loosened and twisted while I was using it; This one (guess what?) loosens and twists when used. There may be some sort of locking mechanism to keep the head stable. (I'm expanding it, improving it and keeping it in the car until spring.) Another silly feature - LED lights that I didn't know were part of this product - EVERYONE seems to have LED lights today and who have them needs . That? We have electricity (well, most of us do) here in New Hampshire. I'd be curious to see how many people actually use this feature - maybe down a dark alley or some other place you're not supposed to be?! A GOOD feature is the ice scraper on the opposite end. Sometimes we have snow, ice and rain in the same storm, so you're covered here. I would love to super glue the attachment on this whisk! And remember, a soft-bristled household brush works great and won't scratch your car. A normal broom just doesn't scratch. I think if I get another whisk I'll try a bristle one. The Snow Joe is good for the price, but only use those LED lights if you really need them - get a flashlight!
